This morning, the MPs of Akkar and Miniyeh inaugurated the marine highway at the entrance of the Nahr al-Bared camp, which extends by sea from the Nahr al-Bared camp to the marine highway in Bebenin al-Abdeh, away from the Muhamara. MP Atiyeh noted that this project "is a significant achievement for Akkar," and thanked the Prime Minister "who supported us and provided us with facilities, as well as the Minister of Public Works who secured funding and is restoring operational protocols while attempting to transfer maritime properties to the authority of energies and buildings."
MP al-Khayr confirmed that "the road that will open is an extension from Tripoli to Akkar and will serve people in multiple ways, facilitating the movement of individuals between Tripoli and Akkar. It is a new economic artery that will also secure important resources for all of northern Lebanon, especially for the people of Miniyeh and Akkar." He promised the operation of the Miniyeh highway "which will indeed facilitate movement for all Akkar residents, and we as a bloc of moderation seek to collaborate as much as possible in these difficult circumstances."
Additionally, MP al-Ba'arini stated that "the Prime Minister has been generous, and the Minister of Public Works continues to monitor the project, while the project for the Arab highway is still ongoing and requires further follow-up for external funding." Al-Ba'arini also addressed the issue of land expropriation, promising to propose a law to secure funding for those who own frozen land.
