For an unusual reason, a flight with Air Canada from Casablanca to Montreal was canceled due to a quarrel between a flight attendant and a Moroccan passenger. Over the past two days, social media users extensively shared a video documenting the rude behavior of the Air Canada flight attendant towards a passenger who had requested a blanket due to the cold air conditioning. However, the flight attendant's response was far from polite, as she began to yell and asserted that there were no blankets, threatening to call the captain and have the passenger removed from the plane.
Following this, the attendant addressed all passengers, asking them to behave decently, while they in turn demanded that she call the captain, which she refused. According to reports circulating on several pages, in solidarity with the passenger, all other passengers also exited the aircraft, prompting Air Canada to cancel the flight.
"Referral for Disciplinary Action and Compensation for Passengers"
Sources reported to Al Arabiya on Saturday that Air Canada decided to refer the flight attendant to a disciplinary council due to this incident and suspended her for a week, while passengers were compensated and apologized to for the incident.
Social media users reacted to the incident, urging the airline to take "measures against the attendant as well as necessary steps to train flight attendants to act with humanity and respect towards customers." Passengers recorded the flight attendant's angry behavior on Friday, leading to a wave of protests on the plane before the flight connecting Casablanca and Montreal was canceled.
