Hamas Mourns Haniyeh and States the Crime Will Not Go Unpunished

Today, Wednesday, the Hamas movement announced in a statement that its leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in the Iranian capital, Tehran. The movement mourned Haniyeh, stating he was killed in a "treacherous Zionist attack on his residence in Tehran." Earlier, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that the leader of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, was killed in Tehran along with one of his personal guards. A statement issued by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and published on its website declared that "the residence of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Hamas Islamic Resistance Movement, was targeted in Tehran, resulting in the martyrdom of him and one of his personal guards," according to the statement. Haniyeh's last appearance in Tehran was during the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Masoud Bezhakian inside the Iranian parliament. Hamas political bureau member Mousa Abu Marzouk confirmed that the assassination of Haniyeh is a cowardly act that will not go unpunished.
