The "Islamic Al-Ezz Brigades" announced in a statement that "on the morning of January 14, 2024, a group of our fighters managed to breach the border strip in the occupied Shebaa Farms, where they engaged in combat with an Israeli enemy patrol near the Al-Rwaysat site at point-blank range, achieving confirmed hits. Three martyrs fell, while two fighters managed to return safely. Three of our fighters had previously fallen as martyrs on the morning of Friday, December 8, 2023, when they were targeted by an Israeli drone near the Al-Maqar site in the occupied Shebaa Farms after spending 35 hours on a reconnaissance mission."
The statement highlighted that "this operation carries the following messages: First, a response to the assassination of the martyrs Sheikh Saleh Al-Arouri, Samir Fandi, and their brothers in Beirut; second, a message to the Israeli enemy to stop its criminal war against Palestine and Lebanon before the region and the world burn from its fire; and third, a message to our people in Gaza and the Al-Qassam Brigades that blood is blood and destruction is destruction; we are from you and you are from us; we fight those you fight and make peace with those you make peace with, and God is the protector and strategist."
Israeli broadcasting authority confirmed the injury of "5 Israeli soldiers during clashes in the Shebaa Farms at the northern border with Lebanon on Sunday morning." Israeli media reported "two injuries from an anti-tank missile targeting a house in the Yuval settlement near the northern border with Lebanon."
Israeli warplanes flew intensively over the villages and towns of the western sector up to the coast of Tyre city, coinciding with simulated raids. Israeli artillery shelled the outskirts of Bayt Leif and Marwahin in southern Lebanon, as well as the outskirts of the towns of Naqoura, Alama al-Shaab, and Aita al-Shaab. Additionally, Israeli phosphorous artillery shelling targeted the towns of Kafr Kila and Al-Adaysah.
