A knowledgeable source in the Russian military industry stated that "Russia will soon launch a missile ship developed under project 12418." In a conversation with the Russian news agency TASS, the source said, "On July 28, during the celebration of Russian Navy Day, the Vympel plant will witness the launch of the Stupinets missile ship, which has been developed under government project 12418." According to available information, the Vympel plant is currently working on the development of two missile ships under project 12418, with their main armament being Uran anti-ship missiles. Once the new Stupinets is completed and tested, it will join the service of the Russian Caspian Fleet, and if necessary, it will be transferred to the Sea of Azov or the Black Sea.
The ships developed by Russia under project 12418 have high maneuverability in water. Each ship measures 56.9 meters in length, 10.2 meters in width, and can sail at speeds of up to 29 knots, covering a distance of 2900 miles on each mission. The armament system of these ships includes Uran-E anti-ship missiles, 76.2 mm AK-176MA-01 guns, and 30 mm machine guns, as well as being equipped with "Mineral-ME" radar that enables them to detect targets at a distance of up to 450 km.
