The Press Club condemned the assault on the publisher of the Al-Siyasah website, colleague Rami Naim, and called in a statement for "the security agencies to reveal the identities of the assailants and pursue them." In this context, the club appreciates "the move by caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati to contact Justice Minister Henry Khoury to follow up on this matter." The statement added, "The Press Club emphasizes the importance of respecting press freedom and freedom of expression, which is a privilege we must not lose."
The Lebanese Journalists Union issued a statement saying: "Journalists, media professionals, and publishers of various websites in several Lebanese areas are facing harassment, bullying, and assault. The use of violence against any journalist, media professional, or website publisher, as happened yesterday with journalist Rami Naim, is absolutely unacceptable and cannot be tolerated, whatever the reasons. This is the union's unequivocal and steadfast stance, and any affected journalist, media professional, or website publisher can turn to the competent judiciary instead of resorting to violence."
The Progressive party's media commission wrote on their account on the "X" platform: "No matter how intense the differences, and with our conviction that political discourse should not exceed the limits of respect for what the people of the South are going through and their sacrifices under aggression, physical assaults are rejected and condemned. This is inconsistent with Lebanon's characteristic of freedoms and diversity. We must uphold freedom of opinion and put an end to assaults against the press."
The media office of the Lebanese Forces Party condemned in the strongest terms the organized assault on journalist Rami Naim. They stated in a release: "We denounce these practices by those who believe they can intimidate the Lebanese through these bullying methods, and we demand the relevant authorities to apprehend the assailants and bring them to justice."
