The double attack near the Homesh settlement in northern West Bank on Friday resulted in 7 injuries among Israeli soldiers. In detail, gunfire was directed at an Israeli army tower around the settlement, and when the soldiers went out to investigate the situation and search the area, they fell into an ambush during which an explosive device was detonated. An Israeli army helicopter landed at the scene to evacuate the injured, while Apache helicopters flew over the area in search of the attackers. The region is experiencing significant alertness, with military checkpoints set up around the operation area. The Jenin Brigade claimed responsibility for the attack.
In response to the operation, the Israeli army indicated that the attack had been meticulously planned for a long time.
Hamas commented on the operation, saying: "Our people are always ready to deliver painful strikes to the heart of the occupation and its settlers, which will be reinforced during the month of Ramadan, the month of jihad, martyrdom, and victories." They added: "We support the struggling hands that avenged today for the blood of our people that has been shed at the hands of the new Nazism and call on the free people of our nation and its heroes to continue the path of vengeance and respond to the crimes of the occupation, seeking freedom along the path of the great martyrs." They emphasized that "the leaders of the occupation and their supporters must realize that our people's determination to uphold their rights and sanctities increases and does not decrease, and strengthens and does not retreat, regardless of the sacrifices and the crimes and massacres committed by the occupation."
