A much-anticipated interview between former U.S. President Donald Trump and controversial billionaire Elon Musk is set to take place today, Monday. Trump posted on his social media platform "Truth Social" last Tuesday: "On Monday night, I will conduct an important interview with Elon Musk."
The official account of Trump's campaign on the "X" platform stated that the interview will be held at 8 PM Eastern Time, sharing an image indicating that Trump's account on the platform will host the interview. The account urged followers to turn on notifications to receive alerts when the interview begins, suggesting it will be broadcast on "X."
If Trump's account does host this interview, it will mark his first activity since August 2023 after the return of his account. Trump’s account on "X" had been banned from the platform, formerly known as "Twitter," following the Capitol events on January 6, 2021. However, the account was reinstated in 2023, months after Musk's purchase of the platform.
Following the ban, Trump established his own social media company, "Truth Social," which went public earlier this year. Trump is the largest shareholder of this company.
