Writer and priestess Carrie Lloyd, daughter of Princess Diana's former caretaker Tony Lloyd, shared a previously untold human story about Lady Diana, showcasing her concern for children, in a recent episode of the "Storia" podcast. Lloyd also posted the story on her Instagram account, writing: "Princess Diana was in first class on one of the flights, and there was a woman directly behind the curtain with a crying and screaming child. It can be said that this mother was alone."
She continued: "Diana was looking through a gap in the window, turned to her bodyguard Ken, and said, 'Please, Ken, can I go back there and help her?' He replied, 'No, ma'am, you cannot pass. No one knows you are on this flight.' After consulting with Tony about the situation, he said, 'Well, I don't really see why that would be a problem,' and Princess Diana made her way to the mother and child. Carrie said her father 'saw the wide eyes of those who were looking at who had just entered' as Princess Diana pushed through the curtains.
Lady Diana approached the woman and asked, 'Can I help you for a minute?' The mother responded, passing her baby to the princess. According to Lloyd, Princess Diana took the baby and went behind the curtain. After five minutes, she was walking and caring for the child, who quickly fell asleep, then returned the baby to the mother, who was crying profusely, turning to her and saying, 'This happens to the best people.'
Richard Branson, who regularly arranged flights for Princess Diana on her charity occasions, commented on the video, saying, 'A beautiful story and memories, thank you for sharing.' It is worth noting that Carrie wrote in December 2023 about the close relationship she had with her late father and the late Princess of Wales: 'My late father was Diana's charity advisor and director of the "Leprosy Mission," one of six charities that the princess supported until her death.'
