The distinguished Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Qablan delivered the Friday sermon at Imam Hussein Mosque in Bourj el-Barajneh, addressing "the Lebanese people, especially our Christian brothers," stating: "The loss of Christians means a loss for Muslims. The reality of our experience and the state of the land over the decades confirms this; Lebanon can only stand with our national partnership. The resistance of the South, with all its steadfastness, victories, and sovereign costs, is for this country, its Lebanese sect, regional interests, and its moral conscience. Therefore, beware of the horns of sectarian sedition, and beware of those who invest in fear, deprecation, division, and demonization of the Muslim partner, especially the resistance, without which Lebanon would have no existence. The country belongs to all of us and our partnership is eternal; we will not choose a substitute for the Christian partner."
He noted that "according to the necessities of our civil and national partnership, there is no room for recklessness, no cover for a Zionist, no treacherous mercenary, no black room, no divisive rhetoric, and no project or trumpet against the interest of Lebanon. It is imperative to isolate the groups of sedition, division, and mercenary from the country's interests and national necessities. Washington, its allies, and its proxies are nothing more than merchants of ruin and sedition."
Mufti Qablan affirmed that "Lebanon today is strong because of its resistance and national partnership. What the resistance is doing places Lebanon at the heart of the regional balance. There is no fear for Lebanon, and we do not need reassurances from anyone, because the resistance—with its heavy sovereign arsenal—serves as the strategic guarantee, and Israel recognizes its resounding defeat if it enters any comprehensive war."
He called for addressing internal matters, especially the presidential election, directing his message to both supporters and opponents, saying: "The presidential settlement is inevitable sooner or later, and we cannot accept the slaughter of the national political project, nor can we surrender Lebanon to any external project. We will not be fooled by the game of cover-ups and emotions, because the country stands on choices, not wishes. The solution lies solely in a presidential settlement that benefits everyone. There is no value to Lebanese democracy if it serves the interests of Washington, Israel, and Brussels at the expense of national sovereignty. Those who believe that parliamentary elections will change this reality are mistaken, and those who promoted the idea of delay while waiting for the war in Gaza have also failed, just like Netanyahu's disappointment in Gaza and Lebanon. The solution lies solely in a Lebanese national settlement; anything else is impossible."
Mufti Qablan addressed the Lebanese government, stating: "The least that can be done is to cut off the hands of the cartels engaged in black market activities, and an electronic stamp is the solution. The Social Security Fund must broaden its coverage for surgeries and healthcare beyond its current scope. The state must be stronger than hospitals and doctors, and allowing public administrations to collapse completely is a national disaster. Security agencies must impose order, especially in the streets; there is absolutely no excuse for evading security responsibilities. The issue of displacement must be resolved with only national courage, especially since protecting Lebanese demographics, markets, security, hard currency, and local labor is impossible amid the displacement crisis. It is also necessary to protect the state from financial cartels that devour everything in the country."
