Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani emphasized that "the world has realized the importance of Iraq's stability for international and regional security." The Prime Minister's media office stated in a communiqué that "Sudani received a delegation from the European Institution for Dialogue and Development, and during the meeting, he reiterated the significance of the cultural and social diversity enjoyed by the Iraqi people, which represents a social wealth that strengthens communication between the cohesive components and solidifies unity against extremism, which is an alien thought to our people and history."
Sudani affirmed "the government's continuous support for this diversity, enhancing places of worship for all religions and sects and the freedom to practice them, throughout Iraq, which is rich in Islamic mosques, Christian churches, Mandaean Sabean and Yezidi temples, and other components of the Iraqi spectrum." The Prime Minister mentioned "the attempts of terrorism to dismantle this heritage and historical fabric, and the victory of Iraqis in overcoming that ordeal, as well as Iraq's current progress in various fields, as the world has recognized the importance of Iraq's stability for international and regional security, and the government's efforts in its program that reinforces the principle of a service-oriented government and community care, setting priorities in public service, economic reform, combatting corruption, and fighting poverty and unemployment to enhance the value of citizenship."
Sudani also explained to the European Institution delegation "the nature of the constructive relations that the government has pursued with countries around the world, and the prospects for fruitful partnerships with European Union countries, including signed agreements and memoranda of understanding, as well as with neighboring and regional countries, based on the principle of mutual interests. This is one of the results of the stability of the Iraqi experience, despite the challenges faced which Iraqis have overcome through democratic building and strengthening constitutional governance institutions, representing one of the best models of democracy in the region."
He touched on "the events in Gaza and the continued brutal aggression against our Palestinian people, reaffirming Iraq's steadfast and principled position," indicating that "the government is working with regional countries to prevent the expansion of the conflict, in addition to continuing to send humanitarian and relief assistance." According to the statement, the European Institution delegation expressed "appreciation for the warm welcome and praised the tangible stability in Iraq, based on the tours they conducted in the capital Baghdad and their observation of various developmental projects, emphasizing the necessity of conveying this image away from attempts at misinformation."
