Israeli Army Comments on the Death of Twins in Gaza

The spokesperson for the Israeli army commented on reports that indicated the killing of newborn twin children in an Israeli airstrike while their father was at a local government office to register their births. He stated, "The Israeli army is fighting the lethal Hamas organization in Gaza following the massacre of October 7. Unlike Hamas, the Israeli army only operates against military targets and uses a variety of measures to minimize harm to uninvolved civilians. As for the details of the incident (the killing of the twins), as published, they are currently unknown."

One of the very painful stories and clips from Gaza features a father named Mohamed Abu Al-Qumsan, who four days ago welcomed his twins, 'Aser and Aysel'. He went to obtain their birth certificates, but upon his return with their certificates, he discovered that the children, only four days old, and their mother were all martyrs, following an airstrike by the occupying forces on their home. "I don’t know what happened. I was told that a shell hit the house. There was no time for me to celebrate their birth," Abu Al-Qumsan said.

Media reports noted that the newborn twins were killed while their father was at the local government office for their registration. The infants, Aser and his sister Aysel, were just four days old when their father, Mohamed Abu Al-Qumsan, went to obtain their birth certificates. During his absence, neighbors contacted him to inform him that his house in Deir al-Balah had been bombed. The Israeli airstrike also killed his wife and the twins' grandmother.
