A security source revealed today, Sunday, the reality of the mobilization of Iranian forces in six border areas with Iraq, indicating that there are joint measures to close vulnerabilities. The source stated that "the activity of the Iranian border guards along the border strip with Iraq, whether in Diyala or other provinces, is normal and no unusual movements have been recorded," confirming that there is no mobilization in six areas on the Iraqi side.
The source added that "the security situation along the Iraqi and Iranian borders is safe and stable, especially with efforts to enhance operations aimed at closing gaps exploited by smugglers and infiltrators in certain areas, and there have been joint measures in this regard."
Additionally, security expert Haqi Al-Zaydi pointed out that "mobilization exists but not along the border strip; rather, it is in bases located within the vicinity of the provinces bordering the border with Iraq, as they are considered important launch platforms for ballistic missiles in Iran overall."
Al-Zaydi said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "Iran had attacked Tel Aviv months ago with hundreds of missiles and drones, most of which originated from bases located in provinces near the border with Iraq. This is not a secret," emphasizing that the current mobilization comes in the context of expectations of a reaction from Tehran to the assassination of Ismail Haniya.
He noted that "Iraq's geographical position makes its skies a gateway for Iranian drones and missiles heading to Tel Aviv, meaning it is within the current scope of conflict that could spiral out of control at any moment, despite efforts to maintain order. However, Tel Aviv remains a problem, attempting to drag America into an open war with Iran amid the confusion and weakness of the American administration against the Zionist lobby, which exploits Biden's withdrawal from the electoral race."
