Egyptian authorities have arrested composer Hossam Habib following accusations of assaulting singer Sherine Abdel Wahab. Hossam Habib appeared before the investigation authorities in Cairo to give his statements regarding the accusation made by artist Sherine Abdel Wahab in a police report, alleging that he assaulted her inside a "studio" in the Fifth Settlement, resulting in her injury.
Sherine's legal advisor, Yasser Qantouch, who is also her official spokesperson, confirmed in a press release that there is no intention to withdraw the complaint filed today by the artist against her ex-husband, Hossam Habib, indicating that reconciliation has not occurred and no withdrawal of the complaint has taken place.
Sherine stated during the investigations that she went to the recording studio she shared with Hossam Habib to discuss their work partnership and its dissolution, as well as to retrieve her entitlements. She mentioned that she was surprised when Hossam assaulted her physically and verbally, ejecting her from the "studio" without allowing her to take her personal belongings. Sherine filed a report against Hossam Habib, accusing him of physical assault.
