A meeting titled "Banner of Reconciliation" was held in the town of Bissour, attended by former MP Walid Jumblatt and the head of the Democratic Party, Talal Arslan. Arslan stated, "The region is going through a sensitive phase, and we assert our commitment to our Arab line, our Palestinian cause, our resistance approach, our steadfast nationalism, and our unifying behavior in our determination to protect a homeland that we established and defended."
He added, "Our community members, wherever they are in Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Jordan, are not projects of sedition or division or border guards for an oppressive enemy. The people of unification are the people of nationalism and correct belonging, and their only project is to protect these constants, even with blood."
Arslan urged "a few sons of Sweida," saying, "Do not ever bet on a separatist, isolationist, or foreign project that you think is intended for your benefit. Instead, look at your history, take lessons from it, and join hands with the Syrians to preserve your existence and future." Addressing the Druze of Palestine, Arslan said, "Do not engage in the occupier's army, do not let it create discord among you, and do not confront your Palestinian brothers, for you are one people."
He lamented the situation in Lebanon, which he described as chaotic, saying, "The situation has become entirely chaotic."
On his part, Jumblatt reminded that "the people of Bissour were at the forefront of the Arab resistance, standing firm against the adventure of division and isolation, and opened the road to Arabism and Beirut, and later the road of resistance to the region, Sidon, and the south." He concluded, "We salute from Bissour, the mother of martyrs, Gaza."
