Former U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Milwaukee, northeastern United States, on Sunday to attend a Republican Party conference, just hours after surviving an assassination attempt that shook the world. Upon his arrival, the Republican candidate stated on Monday that he wants to take advantage of this historic moment to unite the country, referring to the incident that occurred on Saturday night when a teenager shot at him in an assassination attempt during a campaign rally, from which he narrowly escaped death.
The former president emphasized that his speech following the incident would be completely different from those in the past, though he did not disclose any further details regarding the nature of this change. Before leaving his summer residence in New Jersey for Milwaukee, Trump wrote on his social media platform "Truth Social" that he had decided to alter his schedule due to the events of Saturday but completely changed his mind. He stated, "Due to the horrible events on Saturday, I decided to delay my trip to Milwaukee for two days, but I will not let a sniper or killer impose a schedule change on me."
This comes as the Republican Party conference is being held in Wisconsin from July 15 to July 18, primarily aimed at officially naming Trump the party's candidate for the presidential election. Following the incident and accusations of negligence, the U.S. Secret Service emphasized that the agency is fully prepared to ensure security at the national Republican Party conference being held in Milwaukee on Monday and that it has not changed its protocols even after the assassination attempt on Trump.
Secret Service official Audrey Gibson-Sitcino told reporters, "We are fully prepared and have a comprehensive security plan," expressing confidence that the event will have "the highest levels of security."
**Biden May Request Justice to Drop Two Cases**
Trump revealed that, according to the information he has, current President Joe Biden will ask the Department of Justice to drop two cases against him, as reported by the New York Post. The newspaper also noted that Trump stated that, based on his information, Biden would instruct the Pentagon to halt two legal actions against him. However, it emphasized that there is currently no indication that such a move is being prepared.
In total, Trump faces 91 charges in four criminal cases, which he described as an attempt by the political elite of the Democratic Party to prevent him from returning to the White House.
