In a heartbreaking incident, the mother of Egyptian boxer Hamza Tamer passed away just three days after her son drowned at a sports club in Egypt. The grieving father, Hamza Tamer's dad, announced the sad news through a post on his Facebook account on Sunday evening, stating that the funeral and burial would take place this morning at the family cemetery along the Fayoum Road.

Social media exploded with condolences following the mother's death, with many expressing their sorrow over the tragic event and noting that she seemed to have "died of grief" shortly after her son's passing. Others shared messages of support for the broken-hearted father, who lost both his son and wife in just three days, a double shock that no one should endure.

It is noteworthy that Hamza Tamer, a 17-year-old member of the boxing team at Al-Tersana Club, drowned in the club's swimming pool during a rehabilitation session. He was transferred to Imbaba General Hospital in an attempt to save him, but he succumbed to his injuries.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports issued a statement about the incident, announcing several immediate actions. The ministry's spokesperson stated that the swimming pool at Al-Tersana Club would be closed, and all individuals responsible for the incident would be referred to the official investigative authorities. The spokesperson emphasized that the ministry had taken all necessary legal and administrative measures. Meanwhile, Minister Ashraf Sobhi expressed his condolences for the young athlete and directed the officials at the ministry to coordinate with the Giza Youth and Sports Directorate to ensure the necessary arrangements with the player's family.
