Former Iraqi parliamentarian and political activist Faiq Sheikh Ali has recently returned to the media scene to resume his political and media efforts against Iranian presence in Iraq and the authority of Tehran's allies over the state, government, and the parliament.
Faiq Sheikh Ali has led fierce media battles against Saddam Hussein until the fall of his regime, holding onto his reformist vision both inside and outside the Iraqi parliament to this day. He aims to confront the Iranian project and is keen on exposing Iran in Iraq and beyond.
Today, in a notable tweet, Sheikh Ali stated: "During the years of the Iran-Iraq War 1980-1988, I saw in Iraqi television Iranian prisoners who were children... I could not believe it! In 1992, I asked the Iranians in Tehran: Why were your prisoners children? They answered: Because we trembled at your army, so the Basij and Sepah would go to the villages to bring the children to fight under the pretext of visiting Karbala!"
Faiq Sheikh Ali fulfilled his dream of engaging in politics after the fall of the late President Saddam Hussein, dedicating his efforts and love for his second country, Kuwait, towards liberating both Kuwait and Iraq. However, the political circumstances and their complexities did not serve him well! The former parliamentarian continues to spark controversy with his statements and interviews, particularly those related to the regime in Iraq and its relationship with Tehran.
