The Lebanese Army Intelligence Directorate apprehended a network for forging documents in exchange for financial sums on Saturday. The details reveal that approximately two months ago, a citizen (N.J.) frequently visited the home of his cousin (N.E.) in the Koura - Kousba area and informed him that his wife was pregnant and that he did not want to keep the child, intending to place him in an orphanage at birth. He offered to his cousin and his wife (A) to keep the newborn, and they agreed.
On 07/19/2024, using the identification card of the wife (A), the child (L) was born in a hospital in Tripoli, and her husband (N.E.) bore the costs of her birth. After leaving the hospital, (N.E.) and his wife (A) took the child and organized an individual registration statement and a birth certificate for her, claiming to be her parents. They asserted that their action was motivated by the desire to adopt the child without any financial compensation, as they intended to raise her after (N.J.) presented them with the idea of adoption, noting that there was an agreement between the parties for the latter to visit the child.
Later, during investigations, they confessed that they knew a person named Abd al-Razzaq, who had worked with (A) in the furniture field, and she asked him for assistance in the matter. He told her he knew someone at the hospital, without revealing his identity. It became clear later that this person was responsible for transporting the true mother of the child, (H), for tests and helped (N.E.) organize the birth certificate.
The Northern Branch of the Intelligence Directorate continued the investigation to uncover the backgrounds and details of the matter, revealing a network of forged documents for financial sums behind it. Those involved were arrested, and further actions are being taken under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
