Clarification from the Minister of Education Regarding Supplementary Grades

The Minister of Education and Higher Education in the caretaker government, Abbas Halabi, clarified that "after the official examination results for the General Secondary Certificate in its four branches for the year 2024 have been announced, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education reaffirms its commitment to the provisions of Decree No. 5697 dated 15/06/2001 (the system for official examinations for the intermediate and general secondary certificates), especially Article 10, where supplementary grades were not adopted for the branches of Social and Economic Sciences, General Sciences, and Life Sciences, due to the lack of necessity for this procedure. Candidates benefited from the exam specification adopted for this year, which included optional subjects and questions. As for the branch of Literature and Humanities, supplementary grades have been adopted to achieve balance in the rate of success relative to other branches."

On another note, the Director General of Education, Head of the Examining Committees, Imad Ashkar, issued Circular No. 52 regarding requests for reconsideration of the grades of candidates for the official examinations of the General Secondary Certificate across its four branches for the year 2024.
