The Israeli newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will conduct an assessment of the situation on Tuesday evening following the Israeli strike on the southern suburbs of Beirut. It added that "Netanyahu will hold the assessment with senior security officials at 10 PM Israeli time at the Kirya base in Tel Aviv." The meeting comes "in the aftermath of the assassination attempt on Hezbollah leader Fouad Shukar, known as Haj Mohsen."
On the other hand, the Israeli website "Walla" stated that Tel Aviv is raising its military readiness on land, at sea, and in the air in anticipation of a response from Hezbollah. Media outlets close to the Lebanese Hezbollah reported on Tuesday that the group has begun responding to the Israeli attack targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Previously, a Hezbollah official confirmed that the group rejected calls from international envoys to refrain from retaliating to the Israeli attack, which was anticipated following the missile strike on the occupied Golan Heights. The official stated in press remarks that Hezbollah, which denied involvement in the strike on Saturday that resulted in the deaths of 12 children and youths, informed mediators that it would respond to any Israeli attack.
On Tuesday, the Israeli army announced that it bombed the Lebanese capital Beirut, targeting the military leader it claims is responsible for the killing of 12 children in a missile attack on the occupied Golan Heights over the weekend.
