A displaced southern family rented a house in one of the villages in the Chouf region for $1000 a month from a retired Lebanese Army major, in anticipation of any security developments on the southern front. According to reports, upon the family's arrival to take over the house, a number of villagers gathered in front of the house, verbally abusing them and attempting to physically assault them to drive them out of the village. The owner, the retired major, then refunded the family's money, and they left accompanied by the village chief.
In response to the incident, the head of the Lebanese Tawhid Party, Wiam Wahab, wrote on the "X" platform: "We apologize to the head of the family whose family was expelled from one of the Chouf villages. These practices have nothing to do with the Druze community; let us remember Sultan Atrash, who ignited a war for his guest, Adham Khanjar. Our homes are open, and our hearts as well."
### Incident in Shweifat
In Shweifat, just hours after the speech by Hezbollah's Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, who urged the Lebanese interior not to "stab the resistance in the back" during this sensitive phase in the region, unknown individuals distributed flyers in the Shweifat area featuring pictures of victims from the Majdal Shams attack, and images of victims from the events of May 11 in the mountains, signed with the phrase: "We will avenge them, O Hezbollah, and the martyrs of May 11."
In response to this matter, the Progressive Socialist Party's internal agency in Shweifat-Khalda stated: "In a suspicious step with clear objectives, provocative flyers were thrown in the Al-Amrousieh area. We place this matter in the hands of security forces to identify those who distributed these divisive flyers and hold them accountable in court," affirming, "In contrast to these actions, we firmly believe in national solidarity in facing the Israeli enemy and its projects."
Since the Majdal Shams incident on Saturday, July 28, the Progressive Socialist Party has been striving to control sectarian strife in Lebanon, following Hezbollah's "categorical denial" of responsibility for the attack.
