About a month ago, the Israeli army invited foreign journalists to accompany it on a tour in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza. Photos from the journalists' coverage of the tour, which took place specifically in the Yebna area, showed the Philadelphia Corridor, the Yebna Camp overall, the Awadallah Junction, and the Abdul Jaber Junction. Additionally, Hebrew media reported that Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi ordered an intensification of military operations in Rafah, as additional resources were allocated to the army there. Israeli army estimates indicated that eliminating the "Rafah Brigade" affiliated with Hamas would improve the current negotiations for the release of detainees. Palestinian media revealed that violent clashes occurred west of Rafah city today, Sunday, alongside the sounds of explosions and rising columns of smoke.
