A plane belonging to Royal Air Maroc was involved in what has been described as a "serious" incident on Saturday evening, when it skidded off the runway while landing at Roberts International Airport in Liberia. According to local media, the incident involving the aircraft, which was operating a flight between Casablanca and Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, resulted in no human or material losses.
In the details of the incident, the Boeing 737-800 veered off its path to the left while landing, going beyond the runway's edge into a muddy grass area before returning to its course. The aviation police decided to cancel the return flight to Casablanca until repairs could be made. In parallel with the initiation of an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident, it was noted that the cause was due to a strong storm that hit the Liberian capital.
