The Israeli newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" revealed that "numerous drones belonging to Hezbollah, particularly those designated for intelligence gathering, have managed to reach areas within Israeli territory without being detected by warning systems, contributing to a sense of despair among residents in the northern regions."
The report elaborated that "many drones, especially those intended for intelligence purposes, have reached Haifa without obstacles, and even traveled further, all without being detected by warning systems while crossing from Lebanon." It noted that the Israeli Air Force has not attempted to intercept them.
Yedioth Ahronoth stated: "More than 1,200 explosive-laden drones have penetrated Israeli territory since Hezbollah's offensive in the north began, and the security establishment continues to struggle in responding to this lethal threat."
According to Yedioth Ahronoth, on Wednesday, three attack drones flew over the Golan Heights above Katzrin, evading attempts by the Israeli army to intercept them. The incident ended with only one being intercepted while the other two successfully struck targets, resulting in medium injuries to one man and causing anxiety among others.
As a result of these drone strikes, which have thus far, according to Hezbollah's directives, targeted only Israeli military objectives, eight Israeli soldiers were killed and dozens were injured, the newspaper reported.
The report also indicated that data shows that since the beginning of the conflict in the north, at least 395 alerts have been activated against incoming attacking drones, leading to hundreds of thousands of residents being advised to enter protected areas. It was found that a large portion of these alerts were false due to the difficulty in accurately identifying threats, often mistaking them for birds, which occasionally activate the sensitive alert systems of the Israeli army.
