The President of the Lebanese Physicians' Syndicate in Beirut, Professor Yusuf Bkash, signed a cooperation agreement with OMT Company, represented by its CEO, Najy Abu Zeid, at the House of the Doctor in Furn El Chebak, in the presence of a company delegation, members of the Syndicate Council, and a large gathering of physicians.
After the signing, Bkash praised the fruitful cooperation with the private sector, stating: "We gather today to sign a cooperation agreement with OMT represented by Mr. Najy Abu Zeid. Today's event is not just about the signing itself. This step comes amid economic, financial, social, and political challenges, as well as ongoing security tensions and open warfare in our south and Bekaa regions, which are a vital source of human resources for the health and medical sectors in Lebanon."
He added: "This step stems from our feeling of the necessity to save time for physicians and ease their daily lives, avoiding the need for them to travel to the House of the Doctor, which is the home of every doctor, to sort out their financial matters and pay their subscriptions and due fees. This will thus allow them to dedicate their entire time to following up on their patients and participating in medical and scientific conferences and sharing experiences with their colleagues. It is also essential to keep up with the times and take advantage of technology that has developed to serve humanity and facilitate daily life."
He directed his message to "the fellow doctors who are members of your mother syndicate": "From tomorrow, you can head to any OMT center and show your membership card to pay your subscriptions and due fees easily without the hassle of traveling."
For his part, OMT CEO Najy Abu Zeid commented: "We are proud to join hands with the doctors to launch this service, enabling any doctor to pay their subscriptions and fees to the syndicate through more than 1,400 OMT centers spread across all Lebanese territories, and soon through the OMT Pay application. With this service, a physician can easily visit the nearest OMT center and show their syndicate card to pay the amount due."
He added: "We consider this service an added value to our suite of services, as its aim is to facilitate the financial matters related to the syndicate for doctors, allowing them to focus their time on what matters most—the health of the patient." Abu Zeid thanked Professor Bkash and the members of the syndicate for their trust in OMT, pointing out that "this mutual trust has led to a cooperation agreement that helps bridge distances, allowing us to be a small part of your humanitarian mission."
