Mufti of Jaafari Sect Condemns Recent Israeli Airstrikes on Southern Lebanon

Mufti of the Jaafari Sect, Sheikh Ahmad Qabalan, condemned the recent Israeli airstrikes on Southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs, describing them as "very dangerous" and aimed at creating a "false missile game."

In a statement issued today, Sheikh Qabalan noted that these attacks expose the falsity of American assurances and reveal its hypocrisy, while clearly uncovering the fragility of Lebanese sovereignty on diplomatic and international levels.

Mufti Qabalan pointed out that these airstrikes occur at a time when the world is "drowning in chaos and American failure," warning that these Israeli attacks are not merely military maneuvers but part of a "dirty political price" intending to impose American Zionist maps on Lebanon and target its national interests. He emphasized that there is an "eye on changing the rules of the game" in the region amid a "buried United Nations," "government paralysis," and "huge sovereign loss," while some Arab countries deny their Arab interests.

Reaffirming his stance, Mufti Qabalan underlined that Lebanon is "greater than everything happening around it," warning against the "Zionization of thinking," which he considers the most dangerous threat facing the country. He claimed that the quintet committee represents the "worst guarantor" for Lebanese sovereignty and asserted that the game of defeating Lebanon will not pass. He continued to affirm that "Lebanon is greater than everything happening," stressing that "things are assessed by their impacts," and that Lebanon can only achieve security and stability in this "insolent world" through "its national capabilities and the understanding of the Lebanese that Lebanon is strong through its sovereign solidarity."

Mufti Qabalan added: "There is no security or safety for Lebanon in this crumbling world except through its national capabilities and the solidarity of its people, not through submission to or begging from external parties." He confirmed that "the sovereignty of nations is measured by internal strength, not by sanctifying its sovereign deals abroad."
