Today, Saturday, Beirut's southern suburb experiences a cautious calm after the Israeli airstrikes that targeted it yesterday for the first time since the ceasefire agreement. This cautious calm is interrupted by the low-altitude reconnaissance flights of Israeli aircraft over the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and its suburbs, as well as over areas including Bchamoun, Aramoun, Khaldeh, Shoueifat, and surrounding areas.
An airstrike targeted the Hadath area in the suburb, near Al-Diwan café. Following the targeting, the Lebanese army brought reinforcements to the surrounding area.
**Israel: The Lebanese Government Must Enforce the Ceasefire or We Will**
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz stated on Friday that the Lebanese government must enforce the ceasefire agreement between Israel and "Hezbollah" on its side of the border, otherwise, Israel will continue launching attacks. In a statement, he said, "I am sending a clear message to the Lebanese government: If you do not enforce the ceasefire agreement, we will impose it ourselves."
Additionally, a senior US official stated that the US Deputy Envoy to the Middle East, Morgan Ortagus, held tough talks with Lebanese officials yesterday, emphasizing that the ceasefire violation came from the Lebanese side, not Israel. Ortagus also held discussions with Israeli officials, affirming that the United States supports Israel but wishes to avoid further escalation on the northern border.
**"Ceasefire Agreement Violated by Lebanon"**
Ortagus told "Al-Hadath" that Lebanon would not have entered the war if it weren’t for Iran and Hezbollah. She stated, "The ceasefire agreement was violated by Lebanon, and the Lebanese government needs to control the groups launching rockets." Ortagus noted, "The Lebanese army, which we support, is not adequately confronting the groups launching the rockets."
