Syria's President Denounces Rumors of Entering Lebanon

Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara has dispelled rumors about Syria's potential entry into Lebanon, labeling them as mere "gossip." He emphasized that Syria's primary goal is to seek the cessation of conflict in Lebanon, rather than enlarging or getting involved in it.

In a statement made during a meeting with residents from the countryside of Damascus, he clarified that the issue of demarcating the Syria-Lebanon border is not currently a priority. More pressing concerns are at hand, notably the situation of roughly 1.4 million Syrian refugees in Lebanon, and finding a suitable mechanism to ensure their return.
