Minister Hajar Meets Beirut MPs to Discuss Capital Affairs

Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Hajar met with a delegation of Beirut MPs at his ministry office, which included Fouad Makhzoumi, Ghassan Hasbani, Paula Yacoubian, Nadim Gemayel, Faisal Sayegh, Hagop Terzian, Amin Shreim, Adnan Traboulsi, Edgar Traboulsi, Nicolas Sehnaoui, and Mohammad Khawaja. The Governor of Beirut, Judge Marwan Abboud, and the Head of the Municipal Council, Ibrahim Zeidan, were also present.

During the meeting, discussions centered on the capital's administrative and financial matters, and ways to enhance the ministry's support for the governor and municipal council to ensure efficient public services and improve service quality in Beirut.

The participants also discussed the security situation in the capital, the measures and procedures in place to organize traffic, reduce congestion and curb violations, and improve coordination between the internal security forces and the Beirut City Guard to maintain security.

Minister Hajar emphasized that "Beirut, with its symbolic national significance and unifying role for all Lebanese, receives special attention from the ministry," affirming the importance of institutionalizing transparency, accountability, and anti-corruption practices across various administrations and institutions to strengthen public trust in the state.
