Pope Leo XIV today welcomed the announced agreement between Iran and the United States aimed at ending the war in the Middle East, describing it as the result of "encouraging efforts in dialogue and negotiation," according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
At the same time, the Pope expressed deep regret over the "painful" news of the war in Ukraine, praying for "paths of dialogue that enable the achievement of a just and lasting peace."
