Hezbollah Official Warns of Consequences of Internal Strife in Lebanon

In a speech during the central Ashura council at the site of Lady Khawla in Baalbek, former MP and political advisor to the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hussein Al-Mousawi, addressed the current situation in Lebanon. He stated: 'Lebanon is a sacred trust in our hands, honorable Lebanese, and our future generations deserve a stable and secure nation, free from internal strife and political gambles.'

He added: 'Let our unifying slogan be: we may have political differences, but we do not dispute nationally. We tell all those who have a say and influence to fear God in regard to this country. Igniting the fires of discord will not burn only one party, but all sides in every place. God has warned us: Be aware of a civil discord that will not affect only those who have wronged among you alone. And know that God is severe in punishment.'

Al-Mousawi continued: 'It is crucial, wise men, whether Muslim or Christian, to break the silence and neutrality between good and evil, truth and falsehood, and remind the fervent heads that they should not let pride in sin blind their eyes and hearts like foxes challenging tigers, where regret and remorse are of no use. With sincerity to the nation and community, we call upon all loyalists of their country to unite our ranks against our adversaries, defending our Lebanon, serving our people, and rebuilding our land. Let’s place the interest of our future generations above partisan, sectarian, or foreign hostile interests.'
