IAEA's Grossi Announces Inspection Agreement for Iran's Nuclear Facilities

The Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, confirmed on Friday the existence of an agreement that outlines an inspection mechanism for Iran's nuclear facilities.

In statements reported by Reuters, Grossi said, "We hope to be in Iran soon. We have had an initial exchange with Iranian authorities." He added, "Our presence is essential to ensure that the agreement between the United States and Iran is credible."

Grossi emphasized, "We believe that Iran's nuclear materials have not been moved since the last inspection in 2025, but we need to verify this," referencing hundreds of kilograms of enriched uranium.

Grossi noted that reducing the percentage of nuclear materials or transferring them abroad are "options available to Iran, but they must agree to it."

He stressed the necessity for very "deep verification" operations in Iran after the conflict.
