On Friday, President Donald Trump unveiled a special edition American passport to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the nation's independence, featuring a striking image of himself.
Trump announced the limited edition passport on his Truth Social platform, sharing a prototype alongside the message, "The new American passport says 'Welcome, but behave.'"
The passport image shows Trump with a stern expression, leaning on his desk, with his signature visible. The background prominently features the text of the Declaration of Independence.
The image appears inspired by a photograph taken by White House photographer Daniel Tourok.
Opposite the image is an illustration depicting the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, along with the phrase "United States of America 250."
The White House released the same passport prototype, labeled "National Passport."
Previously, the U.S. Department of State announced that a commemorative passport containing "unique illustrations" would be available starting July 6.
In April, a State Department official, speaking anonymously, clarified that these passports will be issued exclusively in Washington, with limited availability.
