U.S. Vice President JD Vance issued a stern warning to Iran on Friday, stating that any new attacks will be countered with "force." This warning comes after American airstrikes targeted Iranian sites along the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on the platform 'X', Vance noted that Iran had agreed to a ceasefire, emphasizing that the United States had "adhered to it."
He clarified that if Tehran has any objections to the implementation of the memorandum of understanding, they can address them through diplomatic channels. However, he cautioned, "violence will be met with violence."
Vance's warning followed an announcement by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) about conducting strikes targeting Iranian missile and drone storage sites, as well as coastal radar installations. These strikes were a response to an attack on a commercial ship traversing the Strait of Hormuz.
The developments come amidst heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, despite a previously reached ceasefire agreement aimed at de-escalating conflict and securing navigation in one of the world's critical maritime corridors.
