Bahrain Calls for International Action to Halt Repeated Iranian Aggression

The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned in the strongest terms the renewed Iranian attacks on the kingdom's territory, marked by the recent assault involving several ballistic missiles and drones. This escalation highlights that Tehran's actions are not isolated incidents but rather a deliberate and systematic pattern of aggression against Bahrain's sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents.

The Bahraini Foreign Ministry stated, "The kingdom had previously condemned Iran's aggression on its lands, and reminded of Tehran's broken commitments and the international will embodied in UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026)."

It added, "With the recurrence of this aggression on Sunday, June 28, 2026, Bahrain asserts that its warnings have come to fruition, as the Iranian regime continues its course unperturbed by international condemnation or any pledge it has made. However, repeated aggression will not alter the status quo nor affect Bahrain's resolve and the steadfastness of its people."

The ministry continued, "This repetition nullifies any pretext and confirms premeditation, occurring right after Tehran committed under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed on June 17, 2026, to permanently halt military operations and respect the sovereignty of regional states. This leaves Tehran solely responsible for breaking its promises and undermining the remaining chances for peace and stability in the region."

The Bahraini Foreign Ministry emphasizes that Tehran's continued defiance of international will necessitates a firm response, urging the UN Security Council to convene an urgent session to enforce Resolution 2817 (2026), end this ongoing aggression, and hold the perpetrators accountable.

The Kingdom of Bahrain affirms that this repeated aggression does not target it alone but represents a threat to the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) as a whole. This stance is based on the principle enshrined in the joint defense agreement of the GCC, which states that an attack on one member state is an attack on all, and that any threat to one is a threat to all.

As Bahrain takes pride in Gulf solidarity and shared security fate, it affirms its full right to defend its sovereignty and security across its territories in accordance with international law. It holds the Iranian regime fully responsible for any escalation resulting from its continued aggressions.
