Israeli Army Installs Crossing Gates in Southern Lebanon

The Lebanese National News Agency reported on Wednesday that the Israeli army has installed crossing gates in various locations in southern Lebanon.

According to the Lebanese agency, the gates have been erected between the 'first and second lines, the yellow zone, the border area, and the area south of the Litani River.'

Additionally, the Israeli army has been clearing roads, particularly the route from the Hamoul area at the entrance of the Naqoura town up to the town of Aita al-Shaab.

This development comes as the implementation of the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel enters its first field test stage, after which Tel Aviv postponed the trial phase of withdrawing from southern Lebanon.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that the trial phase in Lebanon has been delayed until clear criteria are established and further preparations are completed.

An Israeli official stated that no timeline has been set yet for establishing the two trial zones in Lebanon, but a coordination room will operate continuously to implement the security mechanism, to be approved by the United States regarding the participating parties.

This comes as Israeli artillery bombarded the outskirts of Bint Yahoun in southern Lebanon on Wednesday morning. Overnight, Israeli forces detonated several homes in the towns of Bint Yahoun, Hadatha, and Teir in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli artillery targeted the outskirts of Bint Yahoun, accompanied by machine gun sweeps along the road from the town of Kunin to the city of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon.

Israeli forces carried out detonations at several homes in the Bint Yahoun-Hadatha area in southern Lebanon overnight. They also conducted a demolition operation in the town of Teir in southern Lebanon, as reported by the National News Agency.

It is noteworthy that a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel was announced on June 20, and the frequency of Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon has since decreased.
