Drug Bust in Metn: Arrests Made, Narcotics Seized

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced in a statement that "as part of its daily efforts to curb the spread of drug trafficking activities across various Lebanese regions, the Internal Security Forces received information about two unidentified individuals promoting narcotics in the Mount Lebanon Governorate, particularly in the Metn areas." Following this, the specialized divisions of the Information Branch initiated field and reconnaissance operations to identify and arrest the aforementioned promoters. Through investigations and surveillance, the branch successfully identified them as A.Z. (born 1988, Lebanese) and A.D. (born 1975, Lebanese), with the first being wanted by the judiciary. On 19-06-2026, after close monitoring, one of the branch’s patrols arrested them red-handed in the Dhour el Choueir area while they were distributing drugs on a white "Skywave" motorcycle, which was confiscated. Upon searching them and the motorcycle, the following were seized: 11 nylon bags containing hashish, 7 bags filled with narcotics, 3 plastic bottles containing Baz, 4 plastic bottles marked with a heart, 11 plastic bottles filled with drugs, a cell phone, cash, and a wallet containing an ID card and a driver’s license that do not belong to them. During their interrogation, they admitted to the charges against them. Legal proceedings were initiated, and they were handed over with the seized items to the competent authorities based on the judiciary's directive."
