Iran's Parliament Speaker Vows Retaliation After Khamenei Assassination

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has declared that those responsible for the assassination of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei "will face justice," emphasizing that what he described as "the ultimate step for retribution against oppressors" is the liberation of Jerusalem.

In a message delivered during Khamenei's funeral ceremony, Ghalibaf asserted that the massive turnout showed the Iranian people's commitment to the principles of the revolution, noting a rise in calls over recent months for vengeance against those he called "the killers of the nation's leader."

He added that Iran believes "the fulfillment of the divine promise is certain," affirming that aggressors on Iranian soil and those involved in Khamenei's assassination will be punished, and that the Islamic Revolution will continue despite challenges.

Ghalibaf highlighted that the Iranian people have renewed their allegiance to the current leadership, asserting that the Islamic Republic is "eternal and indestructible," and will not be defeated thanks to what he described as the people's resilience and unity.

He also urged Iranian officials to continue their efforts across various fields, whether it be in defense, diplomacy, or the economy, stressing the importance of improving citizens' living conditions while continuing to safeguard national interests and follow the Iranian leadership's directives.
