The Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, warmly welcomed the announcement of the upcoming round of talks between Lebanon and Israel, mediated by the United States, set to take place in the Italian capital, Rome.
He said, "Rome is a meeting point for peace and dialogue. We had previously expressed to the governments of Lebanon and Israel, during last April, Italy's readiness to support the dialogue process for peace and host the negotiations."
He added, "The choice of Rome is the result of diplomatic efforts by our government, highlighting our trusted and active role on the international stage and our continuous commitment to supporting stability and dialogue between the parties."
