Iran's Araqchi Responds to Trump's Comments on Iranians

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has responded to U.S. President Donald Trump's comments about Iranians, asserting that insulting the Iranian people does not diminish their stature and that Iran prefers to respond with actions rather than trading insults.

In a post on "X", Araqchi stated that addressing the civilized and courageous Iranian people in an offensive language does not diminish their greatness, noting that historically, Iranians are known for their civilization, culture, and adherence to moral values.

He added, "We do not respond to vulgarity with vulgarity, but with action, without fear and with great courage," indicating that Tehran will not be drawn into an exchange of derogatory rhetoric, but will continue to defend its interests.

Araqchi's remarks followed Trump's statements in which he declared that he does not wish to continue dealing with Iran or resume negotiations, describing Iranians with derogatory terms and asserting that the U.S. will not allow Tehran to possess nuclear weapons.

The U.S. President also deemed any new negotiations with Iran to be "a waste of time," directing sharp criticism at the Iranian leadership and emphasizing that Washington will take necessary actions to prevent Tehran from developing its nuclear capabilities.

These exchanged comments come amid escalating tensions between the two nations and ongoing disputes regarding Iran's nuclear program, with diplomatic efforts faltering and growing concerns about the potential for wider escalation in the region.
