Tehran Denies Reports of Upcoming Negotiations in Islamabad

A knowledgeable source close to the Iranian negotiation team has denied reports suggesting that a new round of negotiations between the United States and Iran is set for next week, or that technical talks between the two sides are ongoing.

The Iranian news agency 'Fars' quoted the source stating that news regarding arrangements for negotiations in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, as well as reports of ongoing technical discussions, are “false and unfounded.”

The source stressed that any updates concerning the negotiations would be announced exclusively through the official channels of the Islamic Republic, urging against relying on foreign media reports.

This denial comes after American media, including 'Fox News' and 'Axios', speculated on the possibility of a new round of talks taking place next week, with suggestions that Switzerland might host the meetings.

Conversely, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Washington has agreed to continue talks with Iran but also confirmed that the ceasefire is over, amid ongoing disagreements following recent military escalations.

Parallel diplomatic efforts continue as Qatari mediators are engaged in discussions with Iranian officials to de-escalate tensions and prepare conditions for the resumption of negotiations, with U.S. assurances of persistent efforts to reach a diplomatic solution despite current tensions.
