The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has reported the U.S. military has completed its ninth consecutive round of strikes against Iran.
A CENTCOM statement indicated that the U.S. military targeted Iran's coastal surveillance installations and military air defense sites.
According to the statement, the strikes aimed at hitting Iranian military command centers, air defense and coastal surveillance sites, naval capabilities, missile and drone launch locations, and communications networks.
President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that these military actions were conducted to honor the American soldiers who had lost their lives recently.
Trump, speaking to journalists upon his return to Washington after attending the FIFA World Cup final, said, "We targeted them very strongly again tonight, and we did this to honor those great patriots, probably three of them," suggesting that these soldiers died to ensure "Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon."
