Lebanon's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Reji, has described Hezbollah as "Iranian in essence," noting that the group does not label itself as the "Lebanese Resistance," but rather as the "Islamic Resistance in Lebanon." This, he argues, highlights an ideology that exceeds national boundaries. Reji emphasized that it is impossible to separate Hezbollah's military and political wings before disarming the organization.
Reji expressed confidence in the capabilities of the Lebanese army, suggesting that the focus should be on expanding its deployment and control to encompass the entire southern region and all Lebanese territories.
He added, "We trust Washington to ensure Israel's commitment. We hope for a liberated Lebanon free from any occupation and illegal arms, prosperous and democratic, living in peace with its neighbors and the world." Reji stressed that "the vast majority of Lebanese aspire to this vision."
