Lebanese President Joseph Aoun hosted Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri at the presidential palace in Baabda. Berri left the meeting without making any public statements.
President Aoun also briefed Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamni, on his recent visit to the United States. Notably, he discussed directives from U.S. President Donald Trump to resume flights between Lebanon and the U.S. Additionally, their discussions covered the development of railways and enhancing port activities.
Furthermore, President Aoun welcomed MP Akram Chehayeb, who expressed congratulations on the President’s safe return from Washington. Chehayeb received insights into the meetings Aoun held with American officials, including Trump. The dialogue emphasized Lebanon’s right to maintain its sovereignty and protect its land, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied southern regions, and the importance of national unity and the military's role in upholding it, highlighting that the Lebanese state should solely manage security and armament across its territory.
