Iran's Fars News Agency has released satellite images purporting to document the damage inflicted on the Jazan refinery in Saudi Arabia following an attack claimed by Houthi forces last week.
The agency alleges that the images reveal three oil tanks completely destroyed and significant damage to two additional tanks as a result of the strike.
Last Saturday, the armed forces of Ansar Allah (Houthis) announced two operations targeting Aramco facilities in Jazan and Yanbu, declaring the attack a response to Saudi airstrikes on the city and port of Hodeidah and Kamaran Island.
Conversely, Saudi Arabia insists its military actions have focused on sites linked to threats against Red Sea navigation. The coalition clarified that the port of Hodeidah was not among the targets, emphasizing that Hodeidah's ports remain open to maritime traffic.
The coalition accused the Houthis of attacking commercial vessels in the Red Sea, labeling it a threat to international maritime security.
Earlier, the Houthis declared a blockade on Saudi vessels' passage, claiming it was in response to what they described as a siege imposed on Yemen.
Saudi Arabia refuted these accusations, asserting its policy aims to support peace efforts in Yemen and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people. The kingdom urged the international community to enforce U.N. Security Council resolutions regarding Yemen and Red Sea navigation safety.
Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the kingdom will continue to take all necessary measures to protect its ships and maritime interests while adhering to international law and the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea, maintaining support for Yemen's legitimate government and people.
