In a post on the 'Truth Social' platform, Trump stated, 'Nothing will get through to Iran unless we allow it, and nothing will pass unless an agreement is reached or complete surrender is achieved.'
Trump's statements followed his decision to back down from launching a new military strike against Iran, claiming that Tehran has asked for negotiations and talks will commence on Monday, a claim denied by the Iranian Foreign Ministry. The ministry confirmed that their current communications are limited to Oman concerning arrangements for a temporary maritime corridor in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Strait of Hormuz continues to be a focal point of tension between Washington and Tehran amid ongoing disruptions in maritime navigation, coinciding with the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports.
