Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, as well as the latest regional developments.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the call addressed the current situation in the region amid security challenges, particularly regarding maritime security developments.
During the call, President Erdogan condemned the attacks by the Houthi group on ships in the Red Sea and expressed Turkey's full support for Saudi Arabia.
Erdogan also welcomed Saudi Arabia's initiative to establish a multinational maritime defense alliance, expressing hope for its success in achieving objectives such as enhancing maritime security, protecting international waterways, and supporting the stability of global trade and navigation, as reported by SPA.
