Death Toll Rises to 75 in Migrant Surge to Ceuta

The death toll from the irregular crossing of tens of thousands of migrants to the Spanish enclave of Ceuta in North Africa last week has risen to 75, officials said on Tuesday.

The Spanish government mission in Ceuta confirmed the toll to Agence France-Presse, after the crossing of thousands of migrants from Morocco starting on July 30 led to the drowning deaths of dozens as they attempted to swim around the barrier at the Mediterranean crossing point.
