Minneapolis, Minnesota, was shaken by a deadly shooting on Wednesday, as local police reported the deaths of two individuals, and several others injured, including three police officers, following an attack by a gunman. The motive behind the violent incident remains unknown.
During a press conference, police spokesperson Garrett Parten announced that the suspect also died in the incident, though the details of how his death occurred are still unclear.
Parten explained that one individual succumbed to injuries at the scene, while four others were transported to the hospital, where one later passed away. Among those injured were three police officers, two of whom suffered gunshot wounds.
A hospital spokesperson informed AFP that the officers are in stable condition; one officer was shot in the leg, while another underwent surgery, although the nature of the third officer's injuries has not been disclosed.
No motive for the shooting was revealed during the press briefing.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, in a post on Platform "X," called for prayers for the state, while FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the involvement of bureau agents in the ongoing investigation.
